Café Bräunerhof

Thomas Bernhard wrote at the same table here for decades, and the international newspaper selection that kept him is still vast. One of the older houses in the first district, quieter and more local than anything on the tourist circuit, with pastries to match. Cards are not accepted and the doors shut at seven on weekdays.
