Brownie Lake
Eighteen acres of surface water with 49.9 feet under it, which makes Brownie the smallest and one of the steeper-sided links in the Chain of Lakes, tucked into the Bryn Mawr neighborhood. Its watershed is only 369 acres, so the park board has long had to move water in from elsewhere: by the mid-1950s a pipeline was built from Bassett's Creek to Brownie to feed the chain and eventually Minnehaha Creek, because Bassett's seldom ran dry.
