Cologne's municipal baths all answer to one operator, so the rules for getting in are the same everywhere: no advance registration, e-tickets online or pay at the desk. What changes from site to site is the water and the hardware. Some hold a second 25-metre pool outdoors from summer, one is a flooded gravel pit with a sand beach instead of tiles, and only a handful have hoists at the poolside or water deliberately kept warm, which is usually what decides the trip.
