Budapest's thermal baths and lidos
Map of 9 locations in Budapest, Hungary
Budapest's bathing year splits along one line: a short list of thermal sites keeps water in the pools through winter, while the open-air strands run a season that opens in the last days of April and is shut down in the first or second week of September. Most are run by the same municipal company, Budapest Gyógyfürdői és Hévizei Zrt., which means a comparable kit of swimming pool, children's pool and thermal basin at each, and one ticket office logic across the city. What follows sorts them by which side of that line they fall on, and by what the water is actually for: lengths, slides, or sitting in something warm.
