Levada do Caldeirão Verde

PR9 runs 17.4 km round trip from Queimadas Forest Park through to Caldeirão do Inferno, five to seven hours depending on how far you push past the first bowl. Four tunnels punctuate the channel path before the walk reaches a waterfall quoted at around 100 m dropping into a green pool beneath a sheer cliff. Long rather than technical, and one of the island's most heavily walked interior routes.
