Levada da Ribeira da Janela

11.5 km point to point from the coast up into the mountains through a large canyon, with cliff-side channel path for much of the way, or 23 km if doubled back. Walked as an out and back it stays on the levada the whole distance with effectively no elevation gain. The waterfalls here are rain-dependent: after wet weather several cascade directly onto the path, which is the reason to time this one after a front rather than in a dry spell.
