Sant Miquel

About 420 metres long and 48 wide, wedged between Sant Sebastià and Barceloneta, which makes it the narrowest section of the old town's four beaches. The name comes from the church of Sant Miquel del Port, built in 1755 a couple of streets inland. It sits on the weekly sampling round the public health agency runs through the bathing season, and its sand is moved around: 4,000 cubic metres were shifted from here to Barceloneta to rebalance the coastal profile ahead of the season.
