Nova Icària

415 metres at the centre of the city's coastline, behind the Vila Olímpica, between Somorrostro and Bogatell. It has a reputation as the calmest of the central beaches, which is a matter of who uses it rather than of the water, since the whole city frontage is fine golden sand shelving gently. It was among the four worst hit by storm Gloria in January 2020, when the beaches lost between ten and twenty per cent of their surface.
