The Green Park

16 hectares, the smallest of the eight, enclosed by Charles II in 1668 on land Henry VIII had taken north of the Palace of Whitehall. It sits between St James's Park and Hyde Park, so it functions mostly as the connecting leg of a walk rather than a destination: grassland and mature trees between Piccadilly and St James's Palace, with no lake and no formal beds. A nature information board stands within the park.
