Tuscany's free hot springs
Southern Tuscany has hot springs with no ticket and no gate, most of them on the flanks of Monte Amiata, an extinct volcano, and in the valleys running off it. Being free doesn't make them all the same. Some are hot enough for January and some only for August, some have a bar and some have nothing at all, and at one of the best known you can't get in the water. These entries cover what decides the trip: how warm the water is, how you walk in, what you pay to park and what is closed.
