Miners Track

Built to carry copper down from the Britannia works, so the first stretch out of Pen-y-Pass is a broad, near-level track past the lakes before it turns into mountain ground. It has the shallowest overall gradient of the six main paths, but the climb above Llyn Glaslyn, where it joins the Pyg Track, is steep for the distance it covers. Around 3.7 miles and 765 metres of climb to the top. A note on the map pin: open map data offered a close but not exact match for this place, so the marker may sit slightly off.
