Crib Goch

The 923 metre ridge is not a path to the summit so much as a traverse that happens to reach one: a knife-edge crest and a set of pinnacles, then Carnedd Ugain, then Yr Wyddfa. Taken as the Snowdon Horseshoe from Pen-y-Pass it runs about 7 miles with 1,100 metres of climb, the most of any route on the mountain. It forms the opening leg of the circuit around Cwm Dyli, which is why so many people meet it without meaning to.
