Hiddingh-Ascension

A six-hour outing counted among the hardest named ways onto the mountain, combining steep ground, difficult scrambles and several sections of narrow path with drops on both sides. It is usually done in combination with Newlands Ravine or Carrel's Ledge rather than as a there-and-back, which is what stretches the day out. Route-finding matters more here than on the gorge paths, and it appears in scrambling guides rather than general hiking lists for a reason.
