Ross Jones Memorial Pool

Built in 1947 by Randwick Council with money from a compensation payment, and easy to recognise by its castellated walls, which look like the top of a sand castle. It sits at the southern end of Coogee Beach next to the surf club, with a sheltered area that suits families, though the walls take a beating and waves come over them when the swell is up. Home to the Coogee Penguins, who swim on winter Sunday mornings, and the Coogee Huskies. Free.
