Bronte Baths

Five marked lanes, 30 metres long, carved into the sandstone platform at the southern end of Bronte Beach and washed over by the swell. Also known as the Bond Ocean Pool after swimming teacher Major Bond, it opened in 1887 under segregated regulations: men from daylight to 10am and 4pm until dark, women between 10am and 4pm, with Sundays and public holidays reserved for men. Entry is free and the pool is open around the clock.
