Malabar Ocean Pool

Created in the 1890s and closed down by the 1970s, along with the rest of Long Bay, because of pollution. In 1997 NSW Premier Bob Carr and the local member pooled funds for a clean-up and rebuild, and the water is clear again. Crowds are smaller here than at the Coogee and Maroubra pools, and the feel is local rather than visited.
