Galerie Véro-Dodat

Opened in 1826 by two butchers who gave it their names, and one of the first passages in the city to be lit by gas, from 1830. The ceiling is the point here: peaked glass panels alternating with painted panels between them, and the run of identical wood-panelled shopfronts below is original. Current tenants include a luthier, an art gallery, a perfumer and Christian Louboutin's showrooms at either end.
