Passage Jouffroy

The first Paris passage built with no timber at all, framed entirely in metal and glass, dated variously to 1845, 1846 and 1847 depending on which source you take as the opening. The glazing is the original run; the grey, black and white tile paving underfoot was restored in 1987. Antique dealers, a toy shop and cafés share the passage with the Grévin wax museum, whose entrance opens off it.
