Jeevanjee Gardens

A small square of green inside the central business district, created in the early twentieth century by the Asian industrialist A.M. Jeevanjee and among the oldest public open spaces in the city. It is reachable on foot from most of the CBD and sits on public transport routes, which makes it a lunchtime park rather than a destination. Its condition tracks the weather closely: local reporting on the gardens as dying was followed by coverage of the rains bringing them back.
