Amélie and Nino first cross paths here, on the line 12 platform 36 metres below Montmartre, which makes Abbesses the deepest station on the network. Two lifts and two spiral staircases connect platform to street, and the stairwell is painted with views of Paris that passengers on the lift never see. There is no step-free route out.
