Pont de l'Alma

Designed by Paul-Martin Gallocher de Lagalisserie and inaugurated by Napoleon III in 1856, the bridge takes its name from the Battle of the Alma of 1854, where the Franco-British alliance defeated Russian forces in the Crimea. It carried two military statues by Georges Diébolt and by Arnaud. The RER C station beneath it, run by SNCF Gares & Connexions, was the designated rail approach for the 2024 Olympic triathlon.
