Pont d'Arcole

Built in 1856 between the Hôtel de Ville and the Île de la Cité, it replaced an earlier two-span pedestrian suspension bridge and was laid out as a traffic crossing to suit the redevelopment of the quarter around it. The name commemorates Bonaparte's victory at the Battle of Arcole.
