La Trappe
Koningshoeven Abbey at Berkel-Enschot has brewed since 1884 and was the largest of the recognised Trappist producers in 2004 at 145,000 hectolitres, bigger than any of its Belgian counterparts. It was one of the eight founding abbeys of the International Trappist Association in 1997, and unlike most of the group it runs tours and beer tastings on the abbey site. A note on the map pin: open map data offered a close but not exact match for this place, so the marker may sit slightly off. If it looks wrong, please flag this entry so it can be checked.
