The breweries that still carry the Authentic Trappist Product label
Map of 7 locations in Europe
The Authentic Trappist Product logo is not a flavour promise. It certifies that the beer is brewed inside an abbey's walls, under the supervision of the monks, with the income going to the community rather than to shareholders, and the association that owns the mark has withdrawn it before: Achel lost the logo when its last monks left, Engelszell and Spencer closed outright. What remains is a short roster running from an 1836 brewhouse in the Antwerp countryside to a Roman abbey certified in 2015.
