Ipanema Beach

About 2.2 km of sand, with the Arpoador rock at its eastern end and the Jardim de Alah canal to the Lagoa marking its western edge. The Posto 9 stretch is where most of the social scene happens. Like Copacabana, it is swimmable but has strong currents. A 3.7 km one-way run carries on west into Leblon.
