Matthews Beach

Seattle's largest freshwater beach by shoreline runs guarded from June 27 to September 7, off a floating dock with 1 metre and 3 metre boards. Parks warns that the 3 metre board here is normally pulled before the season closes as the lake drops. It is also the beach with a history of bacteria trouble: the Seattle Times reported a summer-long swimming closure over bacteria levels, so check the current advisory before driving out.
