Gare Montparnasse

The Atlantic terminus: TGV Atlantique for Brittany, Bordeaux and the southwest, taking in Chartres, Le Mans, Rennes, Saint-Malo, Nantes, La Rochelle, Biarritz, Lourdes and Toulouse, plus western Normandy and the Loire Valley. Fourth among the Paris stations by traffic, and founded in 1840 under the name Gare de l'Ouest, before a train came through the end wall and into the street in 1895. Shops and restaurants sit inside the concourse, and buses call at street level.
