Gare du Nord

First in France by traffic and the busiest in Europe, handling Lille, Boulogne, Calais and the northern suburbs behind an 1864 facade built to read as a triumphal arch. Inside there are luggage lockers, currency exchange and shops, with the Marché Saint-Quentin a few minutes away for anything you would rather not buy on a concourse. The rue de Dunkerque stop outside is covered and has benches and bins, and is recorded as step-free, though tactile paving on the platform edge is noted as absent.
