Parque Ecológico de Xochimilco

The UNESCO-listed Xochimilco canals belong to this reserve, which covers more than 400 acres of wetland, marsh and forest with trails through them. Pre-Hispanic remains and working chinampas, the Mesoamerican raised-bed fields that look like floating gardens, are part of the protected landscape. Dogs are not admitted and smoking is not permitted; the park closes on Mondays.
