Alameda Central
Created in 1592 in the image of Seville's Alameda de Hércules and widely cited as the oldest public park in the Americas. Around eight hectares of promenades, fountains and kiosks downtown, hemmed in by the Palacio de Bellas Artes, the Museo Nacional de Arte and the Museo de Arte Popular. Concerts and open-air theatre run in the park, and Sunday is when chilangos fill it.
