Typhoon In-fa (2015)
Low vertical wind shear and warm sea surface temperatures took the system from a tropical depression on 17 November to a typhoon on 18 November, when the GPM core observatory passed over it near the Equator well southeast of Guam. It peaked as a category four cyclone with maximum sustained winds of about 115 knots on 21 November, and GPM radar measured rain falling at over 266 mm per hour in storms just northwest of the eye. Winds were down to about 90 knots by a satellite pass on 23 November, and the weakening storm continued to affect Micronesia and the Marianas.
