Wolf, 2015
The highest peak in the Galápagos, on the northern part of Isla Isabela, began erupting before dawn on Monday 25 May for the first time in 33 years, from a new fissure on its southeast flank. Ecuador's Galápagos National Park administration reported fire, smoke and lava, and plumes rose as high as 50,000 feet with minor ash fall on Isabela. The Advanced Land Imager on the Earth Observing-1 satellite captured lava flowing into the ocean on 28 May.
