2007 Aysén Fjord earthquake
The earthquake of 21 April 2007 at Aisén in southern Chile, near 45.5 degrees south, triggered rock slope failures along the walls of the fjord at Puerto Aysén. It was this series of landslides into the water, rather than the shaking itself, that generated the wave, and a field survey afterwards gathered the measurements used to model it.
