Coit Tower

Arthur Brown Jr.'s concrete shaft of 1933 on Telegraph Hill, 64 metres tall, works in the film as a piece of geography rather than a set: Madeleine tells Scottie she found his door by steering toward it, and it sits on the horizon in shot after shot taken from Russian Hill. The observation deck charges admission and the lift does not reach every level.
