Kulkwitzer See
The oldest of the recreational lakes on the list: 150 hectares, in use as a water-sports and leisure centre since 1973, and open for bathing since the 1970s according to Leipzig's tourist board. The same source credits it with underwater visibility of more than ten metres and an underwater park, which is why divers across central Germany know it; motorboats are excluded, as OpenStreetMap records. The water sits on the city boundary between Leipzig and Markranstädt.
