Cospudener See
The Cospuden lignite pit worked until 1992; flooding finished in 2000 and the register of Neuseenland lakes gives the finished water body as 436 hectares, use recorded as water sports and leisure centre. Leipzig's tourist board puts Saxony's longest sand beach on the north shore and the water-sports centre, passenger shipping, sauna and boat hire at Zöbigker harbour on the east side. OpenStreetMap also carries the lake as a registered dive spot.
