Battersea Bridge
An iron arch bridge opened on 21 July 1890, replacing the modest wooden bridge of 1771 that first linked industrial Chelsea with the farming village of Battersea. It carried trams from 1909 until 1950. It stands 400 metres from Albert Bridge, which was built downstream of it in 1873 after the proposal to demolish Battersea Bridge was dropped.
