Tank Hill

About two acres of open, unforested rock above Cole Valley, taking in downtown, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge and across to Oakland. It sits close enough to Twin Peaks to pair with it in a single outing, and gets a fraction of the traffic; parking at the base is straightforward. Because nothing is planted over the summit, the views hold in every direction, which is not true of Mount Sutro next door.
