Casa do Cantador

Niemeyer designed this two-storey hall in Ceilândia, well outside the planned Pilot Plan, as a home for the repente and cordel singers of the Northeast who had migrated to build the capital. It is also called the Palácio da Poesia, and it still works as an arts centre rather than a monument. Sources date the commission to 1986 and the opening to 1988.
