Mr Thomas's Chop House
A chop house in the strict sense: a Victorian trading room where business was done over cooked meats, beer and wine, and where women were originally not admitted. The arches and wall tiling survive, which is what put it among the small number of Manchester interiors on CAMRA's national inventory. Still a kitchen as much as a bar, with cask beer at the counter; the toilets are not step-free.
