Miradouro de Santo Amaro

A small hexagonal chapel dated 1549 at its doorway anchors this terrace, ringed by an enclosed veranda of old tile murals depicting the works of Saint Amaro. The recorded view bearing is 118 degrees, downriver over the Tagus and straight under the red span of the 25 de Abril bridge, which puts it between the city centre and Belém rather than on the tourist circuit. Locals use it for sunset; the ground is pedestrian throughout.
