Rokuoin

A Zen temple in Arashiyama that caps its autumn night viewing at 150 visitors per evening, which is why it books out and why the grounds stay quiet under the lights. The window is later than most, starting on November 21 and running into mid-December, and the gate shuts at 19:30 with last entry at 19:00. Reservations are the whole game here; there is no turning up on the night.
