Kitano Tenmangu Shrine

The Momiji Garden runs along the Kamiya River on the surviving stretch of Hideyoshi's Odoi earthwork, with roughly 350 maples on both banks and bamboo behind them. It opens earliest of the major night sites, from the start of November, and closes at 20:00 with last admission twenty minutes before. Being on the western side of the city, it takes a smaller share of the Higashiyama crowds.
