Landmannalaugar

The hot pool sits at the edge of the campsite in Fjallabak Nature Reserve, where a warm stream meets cold water and bathers move upstream or down to find a temperature they like. Access is summer only and needs a four-wheel-drive vehicle, because the F-roads in involve unbridged river crossings. Harmless parasites have been recorded in the water in the past, which matters mainly to anyone who reacts badly to insect bites.
