Kernkraftwerk Grohnde
The KWU Vor-Konvoi pressurised water reactor entered commercial operation in February 1985 and supplied around 15 percent of Lower Saxony's electricity until it left the grid on 31 December 2021, alongside Brokdorf and Gundremmingen C. The Lower Saxony environment ministry issued the dismantling licence under §7(3) of the Atomgesetz, and PreussenElektra's managing director Guido Knott has put the end of the nuclear dismantling at early 2037. The operator reported the plant fuel-free in 2026, which is the point at which the remaining work becomes a question of contaminated structures rather than spent fuel.
