Lane Beach

Formerly Thorndale Beach, at about 5932 North where Sheridan Road meets Thorndale Avenue in Edgewater. It stood alone as recently as the 1970s, but shifting sand and changing lake levels joined it to Osterman Beach to the south, so the two now read as a single crescent. There is a playground on the park side, and it is named for George A. Lane, a Chicago lawyer and Loyola faculty member.
