Opened in 1982 by the poet and journalist Rubén Derlis as a meeting place for left-leaning intellectuals and artists, and used during the dictatorship for political conversation that had nowhere else to go. An antique piano sits in front of the bar and is played by invited musicians at city-sponsored events, under walls of photographs and decades-old bottles. It closed and changed hands several times before reopening under its current ownership.
