À La Mort Subite

The room dates to 1910 and the bar has traded under this name since 1928, when it was rechristened from La Cour Royale after the dice game played here. The Vossen family is on its fourth generation behind the counter, and the lambic and gueuze that carry the café's name are poured alongside classic Belgian and Trappist bottles. Tastings still come with slabs of cottage cheese or brawn, which is closer to a period detail than a menu.
