The Hat

A long brick-lined tunnel under the S-Bahn tracks at the back of Kranzler Eck, with the bar down one side and a small stage on the other, imported from St Petersburg in 2015. There is no house band, no emcee and no cover charge: the music is all jam sessions, musicians who may never have met working through old-school standards. Open from 20:00 to 02:00, and the crowd skews younger than at A-Trane or Quasimodo down the road.
