Frenchmen Street's live music clubs

Frenchmen Street runs through the Faubourg Marigny, just downriver from the French Quarter. Since the 1980s its three-block stretch has been where locals go for live music, with bands on most stages seven nights a week and more playing on the pavement outside. These three clubs split the street's sound between them: modern jazz in a seated music room, jazz and swing in a small bar with an ID check at the door, and funk and brass bands under a balcony.
